Canary Islands Map

Lanzarote, the northernmost and – together with Fuerteventura – also the easternmost of the Canary Islands, is located only 77 miles (125 kilometres) from the African mainland. It is the fourth largest island of the archipelago and has a population of around 139,000 inhabitants.

Its surface covers 326 sq. miles (846 sq. kilometres), only 16 miles (25 kilometres) separate the west from the east coast and it is 37 miles (60 kilometres) from north to south. Lanzarote is a really great island to drive around, check out some great deals with Strawberry Autos.

Geographically, Lanzarote belongs to Macaronesia, a group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean including the Canary Islands as well as the archipelagos of Madeira, the Azores and Cape Verde.

Below is a map of Lanzarote and the two popular resorts of Puerto del Carmen and the capital city, Arrecife.
