Horse-riding in Lanzarote

What better way is there than to explore the island high up on a horse (and it’s probably less strenuous than walking or cycling too!). Alike many other efforts in favour of preserving Lanzarote’s natural assets, local authorities have developed defined riding routes (called Plan de Rutas Ecuestres), allowing horse-riding lovers to get in touch with the surrounding nature without any risks of personal damage because of the often-rough terrain.

There are riding centres on the island providing beginners riding classes, horseback excursions as well as ponies and games for the youngest horse lovers. These centres often include other leisure facilities like restaurants or playgrounds for children (such as the theme playground Fort Apache at the Lanzarote a Caballo Centre).

If you fancy a try, head to Rancho Texas Park in Puerto del Carmen or to Lanzarote a Caballo near Uga on the road from Arrecife to Yaiza.
