Puerto CaleroWhen exiting Uga and before continuing further south, it is worthwhile taking a left turn onto the road LZ2. Follow it for about 5 km (3 miles) until a minor road to the right takes off to the coast, where you will soon reach the small leisure port of Puerto Calero. Smart and secluded, Puerto Calero boasts the island’s most picturesque marina with some fine yachts lined up as well as some excellent restaurants.
Here, you will also find offers for all kinds of leisure boat trips, such as submarine excursions to discover the marine life beneath the surface of the Atlantic, boat rides to the beaches of Playa Quemada further south and Punta del Papagayo at the southernmost point of the island, as well as big game deep-sea fishing. |
