Exploring the North & its Islets
It is not easy to make a choice about what is the best part of Lanzarote to see, but many think that scenically, it is the north, which has the most to offer!
Like in the south, there has been much volcanic activity in recent history, from which resulted what they are today fascinating tourist attractions, such as Jameos del Agua and the close-by Cueva de los Verdes, both turned by César Manrique’s imagination and artistic skills into amazing nature artworks. And don’t miss out on the Mirador del Río, a spectacular viewpoint also built by Manrique - blending harmoniously with its surroundings and providing breathtaking views over Isla Graciosa and the other islets of the Chinijo archipelago… just to name some of the superb sights you will see here!
Along the shore of the northernmost tip, which is largely undeveloped, you will find some small, idyllic fishing villages, such as Arrieta and Orzola, boasting some nice seafood restaurants, making excellent lunch stops.
