Holidaymakers from all over the world travel to Lanzarote for a superb break in an amazing holiday destination, which offers a fantastic climate from January to December. The island has one airport (Aena - Aeropuerto de Lanzarote) that is located about 3 miles (5 kilometres) from Arrecife, the capital city. You will find all the services you need to get to your final destination in or outside the arrival lounge (llegadas). Tourism is the main source of income here; therefore care has been taken to provide good transportation facilities. There are a wide range of options for getting from the airport to your hotel.
Car Hire
Choose from a range of excellent quality cars for hire at great prices. The company can arrange for your vehicle to be picked up from the airport so you can travel directly to your hotel. This also means that you can start to enjoy and explore Lanzarote straight away! Find out more here with Discount Rent A Car.
Taxis
The taxi rank is right outside the arrival lounge and usually there are plenty of cars waiting. Prices obviously depend on your destination and an extra charge will be added for luggage.
Bus
There are regular guaguas (the name for buses in the Canary Islands) between the airport and Arrecife. The journey by bus takes longer than travelling by taxi, but it is also considerably cheaper.
